Brief, Feasibility and Concepts
We begin with a conversation about the building it will form part of, the desired form and how the staircase will be used. Plans and sketches are reviewed, options such as straight or curved flights are explored, and we give early guidance on feasibility, likely budgets and programme so you can make informed decisions.
Stone Selection and Detailed Design
We bring together stone choice and structure. We help you select an appropriate stone – strength, wear resistance and bedding quality determine what is suitable and then we can consider colour, texture, and variation – while our team develop the 3D geometry, interlock details and support arrangements. This stage aligns aesthetics, performance and buildability before any fabrication begins.
Workshop Production and Trails
In our Oxfordshire workshops, advanced CNC cutting works alongside traditional hand-finishing to produce treads with tight tolerances and clean, precise edges. Where needed we build trial assemblies to confirm fit and alignment, resolving any refinements before the staircase arrives on site. This preparation reduces any risk and improves efficiency for a project where time on site can be so precious.
Site Installation
With the right planning and sequencing in place, the installation on-site becomes and controlled and predictable process. We advise on access requirements and any other logistics to consider before our own teams support the complete installation. Our familiarity with complex stone assemblies allows us to resolve questions quickly and keep site progress moving smoothly.
Aftercare / Ongoing support
Once installed, we remain available for guidance on maintenance, cleaning and long-term care. Stone staircases can last for generations, and thoughtful stewardship helps protect both their performance and their appearance.
